I lead the Machine Learning Platform at Netflix where my teams have built the engineering infrastructure needed to maximize the impact of all ML practice at Netflix – including personalized recommendations, media, content and studio algorithms. Before that, I built the Platform Engineering organization at streaming QoE startup, Conviva where we deployed one of the first industry use-cases of Apache Spark in 2010 and scaled the platform to millions of concurrent streaming viewers. I started my career at networking QoS startup RouteScience Technologies and led teams at Avaya, after RouteScience’s acquisition. I did networking research at SLAC National Lab while attending graduate school at Stanford. Born and raised in India, I have been in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1998.
In addition to building and retaining top talent teams at Silicon Valley tech companies, I occasionally dabble in Art, like to go out on runs in the great California outdoors, and enjoy binge-watching some of the great TV series of today. I also have a special love for Urdu poetry.
